What is a laminated timber home?

A WoodLock is a high-performance building system where walls are engineered by laminating 8 individual kiln-dried boards together under immense pressure. This process creates incredibly strong, dimensionally stable timbers with deep tongue-and-groove joints that lock together for an airtight and weatherproof seal.

How is this different from a traditional log home?

The difference is technology versus tradition. Traditional logs can twist, crack, and settle, requiring constant maintenance like chinking. Our engineered laminated timbers are guaranteed to not shrink, check, or settle, offering the timeless beauty of wood without the headaches.

How much maintenance is required?

Our homes are engineered for low maintenance. The dimensionally stable walls don’t require the constant upkeep of traditional log homes. The protective, non-toxic coatings we use typically only require reapplication every 10–15 years, and solid cedar timbers have a design life of 30+ years before major maintenance is considered.

Are your home code-compliant?

Yes. Our systems are precision-engineered to comply with strict building codes across all 50 states. We provide the necessary engineering and documentation to assist with your permitting process.

How long does it take to build?

On-site assembly is up to 50% faster than traditional construction. Because the wall system is prefabricated, your builder can assemble the home in a fraction of the time, often erecting all walls in just 10 working days.

Do you offer financing?

While we don’t offer direct financing, we work with a network of banks and lenders who are familiar with homes and new construction loans. We are happy to provide all the necessary project documentation to your lender of choice to streamline the process.

Can I customize a floor plan?

Absolutely! We encourage customization. You can bring your own architectural plans for us to adapt, or our design team can work with you to modify one of our existing floor plans to meet your exact needs.
